City of Sydney to divest from fossil fuels

Great news from one of Australia's largest city councils: divestment of $500 million from banks that invest in fossil fuels.
The motion will divert $500 million away from banks that invest in fossil fuels and is the result of a two year campaign by 350.org. Lord Mayor of Sydney said "Climate change is the most important issue of our times...We urgently need to reduce our greenhouse emissions and move away from fossil fuels to clean energy".
