As temperatures climb and we head outdoors with friends and family, an excellent resource from Australian Geographic helps to identify the signs of heatstroke and exhaustion.

Heatwaves are the number one killer among all natural hazards in Australia. While other extreme weather events like floods, bushfires and cyclones gain extensive media attention, extreme heat is a silent killer. With heatwaves becoming longer, more frequent and more intense with climate change the exposure to extreme heat becomes more likely, especially for the elderly, the very young, those who work outside, and those playing sport or exercising outside. Know the signs and stay safe.
